Council Welcomes Blue Flint Ethanol, LLC

Please join the U.S. Grains Council in welcoming its newest member, Blue Flint Ethanol, LLC.

Blue Flint Ethanol produces more than 65 million gallons of ethanol per year at its corn-based biorefinery near Underwood, N.D. In addition to ethanol, it produces distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) for use in livestock rations and corn oil for use in biodiesel production. To meet these production goals, Blue Flint Ethanol purchases more than 580,000 million metric tons (23 million bushels) of North Dakota corn annually.

The facility utilizes steam from the adjacent Coal Creek Station power plant for process energy and drying DDGS. The colocation and use of steam are key factors in making Blue Flint Ethanol one of the most cost-effective, energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly plants in the country.
