Heiko Koster serves as the South Africa representative for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products worldwide. In this capacity, he supports ongoing programs in South Africa organized by the Council’s regional office in Tunis, Tunisia.

Koster is the owner of a consulting company that advises on operational management, raw material procurement as well as feed mill management. Koster is also a co-owner of a poultry layer operation, a partner in a protein by- pass plant in Capetown and a partner in a technical feed formulations company and animal feed company.

Koster attended the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in animal science as well as livestock science and animal nutrition in addition to a master’s degree in animal husbandry.

With full-time presence in 13 key markets and representatives in an additional 15 locations, the Council operates programs in more than 50 countries and the European Union. The Council believes exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture’s profitability.
