However, experts project a growth of more than 25% in coming years, reaching a per capita consumption of 18 kilograms (approximately 39.5 pounds) in 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Expanded consumer demand for meat has translated into greater U.S. exports already. Colombia, for example, more than doubled its purchases of U.S. DDGS between marketing year 2023\/2024 and 2024\/2025 to more than 870,000 metric tons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPork consumption in the region continues to have a very positive outlook due to a good positioning of the product, a solid increase in supply, substitution for beef and successful promotion campaigns,\u201d said Perez. \u201cSpecifically for Mexico, the Council seeks to continue to promote the use of DDGS by helping with training on the benefits that this co-product provides and seeks to expand the message to other pig-producing states that have not yet used the product.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While challenges still exist in the region \u2013 including various pork-related afflictions, inflation in Latin America that drove up meat costs and political concerns that can affect production in the region \u2013 the swine sector there continues to grow at higher rates than broiler production and is gaining relevance in terms of feed grains and co-products consumption.<\/p>\n"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/grains.org\/2025-annual-report\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/panels\/464","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/grains.org\/2025-annual-report\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/panels"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/grains.org\/2025-annual-report\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/panels"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/grains.org\/2025-annual-report\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/476"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/grains.org\/2025-annual-report\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=464"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"commodities","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/grains.org\/2025-annual-report\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/commodities?post=464"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
