Who We Are
Pooja Pokharel serves as the junior accounting assistant for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the global use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products including ethanol and distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS). In this capacity, Pokharel assists the domestic and international accounting managers with their accounting duties.
Prior to working for the Council, Pokharel served as a data analyst for the Travel Channel. In that capacity, she assisted the finance manager with budget planning and data entry.
Pokharel holds a master’s in business administration from Virginia International University and a bachelor’s degree in management from Wichita State University.
Founded in 1960, the U.S. Grains Council works to promote exports of U.S. grains and related products through a network of 10 overseas offices and 30 in-country representatives. The Council believes exports are vital to global economic development and to U.S. agriculture's profitability. Support for the Council comes from its producer and agribusiness members and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) through programs authorized in the U.S. farm bill.
