Who We Are
Helen Elmore serves as the director of finance and administration for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the global use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products including ethanol and distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS).
In this capacity, she is responsible for directing the organization’s worldwide financial reporting and administrative services operations. Elmore also ensures the Council is in legal and regulatory compliance will all accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
Prior to the Council, Elmore worked for the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind as the human resources director. In this capacity, she coordinated salary administration, performance review and all other personnel programs, including benefits. She established and updated corporate policies and oversaw policies and practices related to performance reviews and compensation.
Elmore also previously served as the director of administration and prior to that manager of administration for the Council where she was responsible for oversight of human resources and benefits programs as well as for meeting planning.
Elmore holds a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in human kinetics and leisure studies.
The Council is a private, non-profit partnership of agribusinesses and producers committed to building and expanding international markets for U.S. feed grains and ethanol. The organization has 10 international offices that oversee programs in more than 50 countries. Support for the Council comes from its producer and agribusiness members and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) through programs authorized in the U.S. farm bill.
