MAP and FMD Help Ensure Sun Never Sets On USGC Work To Promote U.S. Exports

Staff and members of the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) like to say the sun never sets on the Council's work around the world to promote U.S. feed grains and co-products.

That work is made possible by member support and the strong public-private partnership created by two long-term government initiatives - the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development (FMD) program - funded through the farm bill.

Members of the 2017 Agriculture Trade Goodwill Mission pledged Wednesday to purchase 5 million metric tons (197 million bushels) of U.S. corn and 500,000 tons of U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) between 2018 and 2019, echoing a rebound of U.S. corn sales to this long-term trading partner.

Washington, D.C. - Members of the 2017 Taiwan Agricultural Goodwill Mission pledged Wednesday to purchase 5 million metric tons (197 million bushels) of U.S. corn and 500,000 tons of U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) between 2018 and 2019. The commitment was made during a signing ceremony at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
