USGC Statement On End Of Vietnam Suspension Of U.S. DDGS

A statement from U.S. Grains Council (USGC) President and CEO Tom Sleight on the announcement that Vietnam will lift its suspension of U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) imports and ease fumigation requirements for U.S. corn and wheat imports: 

“We are very pleased to hear the news from Vietnam overnight that, as of today, import permits will be issued for U.S. DDGS and new phosphine fumigation protocols will be acceptable for shipments of U.S. corn, DDGS and wheat.

Japan is one of the largest and most loyal markets for U.S. feed grains, often the top purchaser of U.S. corn as well as an important buyer of U.S. sorghum, barley and distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS). Since opening an office there in 1961 - just one year after the organization’s founding - the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has worked closely with Japanese grain buyers and end-users to develop their industry to serve increasing demand for meat, milk and eggs. Today, that work is led by Tommy Hamamoto, who discusses the priorities for his office here. 

Michigan Corn Growers Association Joins As USGC Member

The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) is pleased to welcome the Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) as a new member.

Officially launched in 1972, the MCGA is a grassroots organization of grower members dedicated to increasing the profitability of corn production. MCGA’s efforts include marketing seminars, educational meetings, research plots and tradeshows.
