Living Water Integra Trade Increase Council Membership

Living Water Integra Trade was created to supply distiller's dried grains with solubles and whole grains from the United States to Chinese and Southeast Asia end-users. Reminder: Applications for USGC Board and Officers Positions

Applications are due by Jan. 20, 2014, from U.S. Grains Council delegates interested in standing for election at the Council's 54th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting in Omaha, Neb., on July 30, 2014, to fill expiring board of directors positions and officer positions.

The nominating committee will consider all applications received by the due date and announce the slate of candidates in Long Beach on Feb. 12, 2014.

USGC Washington DC Office Closed for the Holidays

The U.S. Grains Council's headquarters in Washington, D.C., will be closed in the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 24 and all day Wednesday, Dec. 25. The office will reopen during regular business hours on Thursday, Dec. 26. The Washington, D.C., headquarters will also be closed the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 31, and all day Wednesday, Jan. 1. The office will reopen during regular business hours on Thursday, Jan. 2. The next issue of Global Update will be distributed Thursday, Jan. 9.

The Council wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season and a prosperous new year.

Council Welcomes Advanced BioEnergy, LLC

Please join the U.S. Grains Council in welcoming its newest member Advanced BioEnergy, LLC.

Advanced BioEnergy, headquartered in Bloomington, Minn., has two ethanol production facilities that have a combined capacity of approximately 85 million gallons per year. Their facilities also produce approximately 225,000 tons of dried distiller's grains with solubles annually.

Advanced BioEnergy's mission is to be a low cost producer of ethanol through the management, operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art renewable fuel production facilities.

Application Available for USGC Board and Officer Positions

USGC Washington DC Office Closed for Thanksgiving

The U.S. Grains Council's headquarters in Washington, D.C., will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of Thanksgiving.The office will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, Dec. 2. The next issue of Global Update will be distributed Thursday, Dec. 5. The Council wishes everyone happy holidays and safe travels this Thanksgiving weekend.

New Content Added to Online Membership Section

The U.S. Grains Council is pleased to announce updated content has been added to the My USGC membership section of the website to help meet the evolving and expanding demands of its membership. This section now includes information on Council publications, Council frequently asked questions and Council events, in addition to information on becoming a member and an online membership directory. USGC Welcomes Cole Bishop to Staff

Please join the U.S. Grains Council in welcoming its newest employee, Cole Bishop.

Bishop joins the Council as the new global strategies coordinator. In this capacity, he will assist the global strategies and trade policy/biotechnology departments, organize staff and member travel, prepare arrangements for visiting teams, and facilitate program planning, correspondence, reports, information management and contracting.
